While plunging through the online newspapers from around the state today, I recognized an old friend -- Yon Lambert, who played high school soccer at Dreher HS from 1986-89 and covered high school sports for
The State in the early 1990s.
Lambert is an accomplished outdoorsman in such areas as rock climbing, hiking, etc., and currently resides in Spartanburg. To view a picture of Lambert, check out today's

Lambert has also written a book entitled,
Selected Climbs in North Carolina, if any of you are interested in rock climbing.
