Piratefishy,
Okay I'll bite. Out of Mauldins 17 scheduled games 12 are against week five ranked opponents.

3 games top 5 4a
2 " top 10 4a
2 " top 15 4a
1 " top 3 3a
2 " top 15 3a
2 " top 3 5a Georgia

Looks pretty easy doesn't it?

I think Mauldin plays one of the toughest schedules in the state.

I am not a fan of calling out who has the hardest or easiest schedule because coaches and ADs have to balance budget and team talent. Remember the goal is to finish 1st in your region and NOTHING ELSE MATTERS toward playoff seedings.

Other than that a tough schedule makes your kids better and play faster. A really good team would not want to load up on cupcakes and not develop game speed for playoffs. On the other hand if you are rebuilding, maybe a few easier games early on help build confidence and enthusiasm.

Of course some coaches have no control at all in scheduling. Their ADs do it and the biggest consideration is cost. I imagine that happens alot in the lower state where schools are a bit more spread out.

Mauldin's region schedule trumps Wando's. Of course none of this will matter except the score in May. Nice little rivalry developing.

Wando's schedule is fine.
Mauldin's is quite hard.
Dutch Fork's looks strong as well
Spartanburg's is strong
T.L. Hanna's is strong
Wren's has been ok so far and will pick up very soon
Irmo's is strong
Dorman's is extremely tough
Fort Mill's was tough early—their region schedule they cant help--I think the NC teams put it as a tough schedule--just don't know much about those teams as compared to SC teams. (I would think they are very good and I am sure Hurst will let me know)
Ridge View's looks strong
Hillcrest's looks to be brutal very soon
West Florence's has 2 close losses vs Chapin and Waccamaw but does not play a ranked 4A team till the last game of season...
White Knoll's looks strong
Spring Valley's looks strong

Curious, Do you really think a teams' schedule does not matter?

m2c, my point was who had the most difficult schedule will be irrelevant once playoffs are through and we have a champion.

I could be wrong, but I think you are asking if I think a team's schedule gets them playoff ready (higher difficulty = better prepared). If that is the case, I think the schedule matters very much.

This may be better answered after the playoffs. Like Dale said, more difficult schedule, better playoff prepared.
We should see who does better in the playoffs and then look at their schedule. I can almost guarantee that the teams that lose early in the playoffs will have a softer schedule!

There are a couple of 2A teams that are ranked but have a very weak schedule
