I heard last night that Coach Painter has stepped down at DF and is moving to the Low Country. Has anyone else heard this?

My understanding is that Coach Painter had a meeting with the returning players yesterday to let them know he had taken a position in the Charleston area and that there would be a new coach next year.

That job seems to be a gold mine for some lucky coach! Any word on who might get the job?

82-27 the past 5 years is pretty strong. Someone is going to get some good CUFC and Irmo area talent! No excuse for Dutch Fork not to be among the state's elite in boys and girls high school soccer.

Any high school program would be lucky to have a coach who cultivates team play and enthusiasm for the game. The girls/players from DF acted with respect and dignity during their final game with Smvl. I have to believe that comes from excellent leadership.

I am praying for a change here in the lowcountry. I have held my tongue about leadership in Smvl program this year - if you know a player on that team, you know that there were some extraordinary issues going on between the girls and their coaches, culminating in the cancellation of their end of year gathering due to "the season did not go the way that we expected it to, either on or off the soccer field" and "the parents, players or coaches would not enjoy a party atmosphere at this time." The girls were punished as a team mid-season and went on and turned their season around.

I wish the best of luck to the DF program in finding a high quality replacement and also best of luck to the team in the lowcountry who is lucky enough to get the opportunity to have a great new coach.
