I was wondering if any decisions have been made about who is going to host the State cups this year.

From the "Report on the SC Youth Soccer Board of Directors meeting held on March 22, 2009":

4. The Board approved a motion for Carolina FC to host the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 PUBLIX President’s Medal Cups and the PUBLIX Recreation Cup at their complex in the Greenville / Spartanburg area
5. The Board approved a motion for Discoveries Soccer Club to host the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 PUBLIX Challenge Cups at their facilities in Rock Hill.
6. The hosting organization for the 2010 Kohl’s Cup will be decided at the next scheduled meeting of the BOD in June.

President's Medal Cups in Greenville two years in a row? CFC did a great job hosting last year, but I thought we were rotating locations to spread the travel distances around a bit and give other areas a chance to host...?

In the past the cups rotated thru the three districts but I do not think that hosting state cups are as appealing as in the past..I don't think that many clubs are jumpimg at the chance to host anymore..it's more of a burden that an honor to some..

You might be right my understanding is that it no longer rotates but clubs can now apply to host state cup and there does not seem to be a line when it come to lowcountry clubs wanting to host it these days despite the drive CFC did a great job last season.

Lets hope we can get our ducks in a row and bring state cup back to the lowcountry soon

I was looking forward to having it in our area this year, but if no one in the Lowcountry wants it badly enough to work for it, then I agree it is better to take the drive and have it hosted by someone who wants to do it up right (as CFC did last year--it was a great experience for all of our girls).

If the Lowcountry clubs want to sit back and no longer challenge the idea that the Upstate is the center of soccer in South Carolina, I guess we don't have much right to complain when people talk that way, eh?
