SCISA allows varsity play beginning in 8th grade, and Courtney joined Pinewood's varsity team in 8th grade. She scored plus/minus 50 goals that year, and plus/minus 50 goals last year, finishing freshman year with 98 goals. That tally does not include scrimmages.

Yes, the referee did issue yellow cards last night. Pinewood's coach did talk to the other team coach and the referees ahead of time, and they were gracious in going along with a celebration if/when she hit the 100th. As evidenced by comments posted here, it is a monumental occasion for a barely-sophomore and one worthy of a couple of yellows, which the team gladly took. She actually scored 3 goals last night, and so her tally is 101.

Courtney is a very talented striker, a good team player and a lot of fun to watch.

Pretty sure this is accurate. She had 43 goals 8th grade and 55 9th grade.

What club team does she play for? A lot of goals for two years!!

Actually Courtney scored 4 last night and stands at 102. She has had many quality goals over the past two years against very good teams. Last year she tallied a hat trick in the state championship against Cardinal Newman, a clutch game winner against Hilton Head Christian in the playoffs, and key goals against Greenville, Woodruff, and Hilton Head Prep.

This year the schedule is even tougher. I give the coach at Pinewood credit for trying to take the program to the next level. Wando is just one of many talented teams on Pinewood’s non-conference schedule this year including Christ Church (and possibly Eastside, Brookland-Cayce, and Woodruff at the Bearcat), The AAA and AA state champs from GISA (Georgia’s version of SCISA) and a very challenging tournament in Kansas City against some of the top teams in the country.

Unfortunately we did not get to see how Courtney could do against Wando tonight because she was out with the flu. Pinewood played well for 25-30 mins. but gave up a PK and two quick goals before half. The second half saw a very good Wando team out play a very tired Pinewood Team. Final score was 6-0.
