Does anybody know if Georgia high schools are limited in the number of games they can play in a day? I know they have rules regarding club but do those rules carry over to high school?

I believe that GA schools can play two games in a day, but their tournament games count towards their overall allotment of games allowed to be played in a season, which I think is 14. Someone else may have more concrete info than I though.

Only last year has the GHSA passed a rule that allows GA teams to play 2 games in one day and it's only allowed for weekend tournaments. The old rule prohibited a player from playing more than 3 halves of soccer in one day which is actually a NFHS rule and it definitely limited the participation of GA teams in out-of-state tourneys. These tournament games also count towards the total # of regular season games that teams are allowed to play which is 18. Hope this helps!

Coach Bess,

Any restrictions on the amount of games, or Sunday play, for GISA schools?

Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

I'm not 100% sure about GISA schools since they make up a pretty small percentage of the schools and I'm also unfamiliar with their rules. In GA unfortunately, GHSA schools aren't allowed to play on Sunday at all.
