You can bet the house that Wando, Riverside and Mauldin will make it to the Final 4 in 4A.

I don't think anybody has a real handle on 3A yet.

Mauldin at 9 is definitely a question. I'm sure it's because of their performance at Viking Cup. We all know that was at least partially due to missing players who were in San Antonio with ECNL.

Number 14 may be a little low for Dorman but they have losses to South Aiken (who lost badly to AAA Woodruff) and Lexington. They also tied Irmo who were missing 3 key players who are difference makers for them.

White Knoll's results, on the other hand, are quite impressive. They beat BC 5-1. They also have wins over Greenville and Ridge View along with ties against top ten teams Hilton Head and Mauldin. Who knows if they can keep up this type of results. Go T-Wolves!

Here is how the current AAAA top 15 stack up based solely on games among themselves, ie. games against opponents who are also in the current AAAA Top 15.

Order -- Team -- Record vs Top 15 -- Points -- Points%
------------------------------------------------------
1T -- Riverside -- 3-0-0 -- 9 -- 100
1T -- Spartanburg -- 2-0-0 -- 6 -- 100
1T -- Wando -- 2-0-0 -- 6 -- 100
4 -- Blythewood -- 2-1-0 -- 6 -- 67
5 -- Dorman -- 2-1-1 -- 7 -- 58
6T -- J. L. Mann -- 1-1-0 -- 3 -- 50
6T -- Spring Valley -- 1-1-0 -- 3 -- 50
8 -- Mauldin -- 1-1-1 -- 4 -- 44
9T -- Lexington -- 1-2-0 -- 3 -- 33
9T -- T. L. Hanna -- 1-2-0 -- 3 -- 33
9T -- White Knoll -- 0-0-1 -- 1 -- 33
12 -- Irmo -- 0-1-1 -- 1 -- 17
13T -- Clover -- 0-1-0 -- 0 -- 0
13T -- Wren -- 0-1-0 -- 0 -- 0
15 -- Hillcrest -- 0-3-0 -- 0 -- 0

Points: 3 for win, 1 for tie
Points% = Points/Total Possible Points X 100

Includes games through March 14.

Paul, this data comes almost exclusively from the VK so it isn't valid. Basically you are saying that the top teams in the state don't have any ECNL players. Not true. Teams like Greenville, Mauldin, and Riverside that are loaded with ECNL players will be among the top teams by the time playoffs come around. You know that.

Agreed. As I said, this is based solely on games played to date. But it is considerably different than the 3/14 SCHSSCA rankings which include play against 3A and 2A/1A teams. Maybe if I can get the time, I'll do this again using only regular season games after a couple of weeks.

If we did this on non-ECNL affected games, Mauldin would show a marked increase, but Greenville is still winless either way. Riverside is in the top 3 either way. It will be interesting to see the results of tomorrow's match between Greenville and JL Mann.

Upcoming games will weed out the teams who don't deserve to be in the top 15. Viking Cup I'm sure had a lot to do with this weeks rankings. When those teams return to full strength all will be well in the world.
