If the game is interrupted by thunderstorms, what is the policy during playoffs? Weather report says storms are rolling in around 6:00 p.m., thirty minutes after kickoff. Opponents are travelling 3 hours from Beaufort County.

I could not find anything in the 2A handbook that separates regular season and playoffs as far as inclement weather is concerned.

I too have seen the forecast and am concerned. I guess you just wait a lot longer before calling the game.

Thanks. I will see if the coach will agree to an early kick off - if the refs show up early and not two minutes before the game.

What is the regular season rule for calling a game for weather? I am being told that it is a time thing that if a certain time hits then the game is called and it is over. Is this correct?

If a half is completed, then it's an official match.

We learned tonight: Once a game is delayed by lightning, the game will not restart until 30 minutes from the last lightning sighting.

So if it is 0-0 at half then in the playoffs its an official match???? That if it is called because of weather.

It would have to be played ASAP and resume where it left off as there cannot be a tie, there must be a winner

For instance.... tonight in 2A playoffs, according to the Playoff Score thread, Marion at Waccamaw was delayed b/c of lightning. It was determined that the game would not be able to continue tonight. The game will resume tomorrow from the point it left off (much like marking your golf ball for a weather delay)... Waccamaw up 1-0, 31st minute.

I guess the only difference would be that if it were 1-1 in the 61st minute, you would just pick the game up from there. If it was 2-1 in the 61st minute, game is over.

Wow then the team traveling 3 hours would hating that.
