mainly club coaches

I know there are variables to consider, such as the coach, the players, the environment, the player's ages and development level, and in some cases, some clubs do not have a lot of coaches.

Having coached a while, in general, I feel after two years, the players should move to another coach to get new ideas, a different perspective, and to hear a different voice. Also, I have seen some players blossom after a new coach sees their skill set fitting a different role on the team than another coach has.

Looking for others input and feedback. Perhaps this can even get the loquacious Coach Chass involved.

I'm a big proponent of players' hearing and learning from a different coach. Too much of the same person (good/bad) leads to too much 'sameness.'

I totally agree that players should be exposed to different coaches in order to continue to grow and improve their style of play. I have experienced situation in which the player plays club and high school ball, and is not able to improve because the coach is the same for both. If you want to improve your game, get out of the comfort zone by training with a different coach and group of players.

Agreed. It's good to be with other coaches so you can see a variety of styles and learn to appreciate when you have a 'good' coach versus a bad one.
