Alright Coaches, send me the straight shot! Am I in need of a 'wake-up" call? This is only my second year at high school level but, I am totally dismayed about the paucity of public coverage for soccer events. The last edition of the High School Sports Report had absolutely no coverage of soccer. I wrote the editor to determine if he knew of other spring sports besides baseball and softball. In my community I do not find it surprising to find soccer ignored but, the "High School Sports Report" ignoring soccer was horrific. I still feel somewhat slighted in my own community considering that there appears to be twice the number of soccer fans compared to baseball fans. I have truly deserving athletes who need the publicity for their future education option. Am I alone or are we ignored?

Coach this is a never ending problem,I have coached for 19 years and see that we have to scratch for all the recognition that we get.
I have done little things such as call all scores into the paper, win or lose. I use the local weekly paper by providing them with "news releases" I also have done a little web site. I try to make my kids feel special, so the newspaper is of little difference to us. I have a lot of other little things that we do at Stratford, not saying we know it all, but the kids feel important. Also I steel ideas from people like Keven Heise from BC. Best of luck
