I have a confusing offside question. What is the high school league ruling on this particular case?
3 offenders attack a goal. The sweeper steps up and catches the right forward offside by at least 6 or 7 feet. But, the left forward receives an onside pass from a midfielder and has a fast break towards goal. He/she scores soley on that run. The offside right forward had no part in the play.
This has no basis for being called offside right? Because the pass itself was onside, correct? I saw this called offside a few months ago at a club game. Perhaps the ref was just confsued. or maybe I'm completely wrong. Just clearing this up.
