Having recently moved back to SC and not aware of all that is soccer in the state, am I to understand that 8th graders can play on the HS JV team? Any insight would be welcome.

Yes, 7th and 8th graders can participate on SC High School League junior varsity teams. However, only 9th-10th-11th-12th graders are allowed on varsity teams due to soccer being categorized as a "contact sport" along with football and basketball.

SCISA teams can have 7th-12th graders on varsity soccer teams.

I'm not sure how this rule is enforced, but if your middle team has a soccer team, then you cannot play JV.

Mt. Plesant, although we were really impressed by all the clubs we investigated. All seemed to have excellent coaching credentials and great admin support. We are looking forward to the fall season.
