Hurst66: I know that WAGS has had terrible "luck" in the last few years, but this is the second year in a row for the rain. Last year my kid went up to DC, stayed around a hotel for a while, and came back home without playing a game because eventually things were cancelled. A year or so before that, the tournament was cancelled due to the sniper stuff. As I said, terrible luck.
Unless my kid wanted to go to a Region I school, I'm not sure why I'd want her to go to WAGS. And even if she did want to go to a Region I school, I'd tell her to find a team on which to guest rather than expect her team to en masse go up to a tournament that would have little revelancy to them.
I'm not a fan of the CASL Showcase -- it seems to be sliding every year -- but at least you can make a reasonable argument for attending it despite lousy scheduling, facilities, and field conditions -- I don't know how you make a reasonable argument for WAGS.
