No. I think that if you have a large club with a recreational program and a classic program then you will need fields and field maintenance and lights and goals. That means you will need money. Money comes from several places. Of these are corporate sponsorships, gifts, fees, and tournament revenue. If you do without one of these then the other sources will have to compensate. Otherwise you may use the counties fields and lights or maybe you are a smaller club and do not need a large amount of land. There is probably a lot that I am missing in this but that is my first reaction to doing away with tournaments. The money would have to come from somewhere else.

I know how much I spend on my daughter each year. I also know how may games she would play in if we never went to a tournament. What I don't know is what I would do without the hours that she and I spend in the car and in the restaurants and in the hotels on these trips. I would probably save some money but one day I would be an old man without the memory of the time I spent with her doing what she loves.

Harry, I dont think that anyone who has shared your experiences could argue with your comments, but I thought we were talking finances?
Perhaps train and make the kids better players?
