I just wanted to say that "Captain America" gained much of my respect back last night. Too often in these "showcase" preseason tournaments, many of the marquis players of the MLS clubs don't show. Granted, sometimes it is due to injury but it seems that mainly its because the players don't feel a need to show. I commend Claudio Reyna on not only being there, but carrying himself as a humble man. Prior to the match, before coming on to the field at the half, and after the match, he made a steady effort to speak to everyone who spoke to him and to sign autographs for the many kids holding out pens, balls, and shirts. I was very impressed by this. Many players of his caliber and experience wouldn't do this.

Also, just throwing this out there: Dane Richards, the former Clemson standout got in the match with about 30 mins left in the second half. He immediately created multiple scoring opportunities with his speed and hustle and ultimately took the shot that was poked in for New York's game winning goal. Well done Dane and good luck in the future bud.

True on the Reyna I was able to see him last two weekends. He was really working hard both games. Did a lot that would not be apparent if I saw it on TV.
Dane had another good match as well.
Last weekend we missed the big guns due to national team play. DeRossario and Ching were there this weekend so it a full side.

Reyna was so bad at the world cup so he's got a lot to make up for before he goes on my good list, he always seems to slow down his teams attack, he definitely did so for the US and also his former club teams in England, most recently Manchester City
