I would just like to congratulate the SA goalie for a very well played game last night. I do not have the exact numbers, but I would not be surprised if it was something like 30 something to 3 in shots in favor of Lexington. The SA made some really excellent saves for her team last night. SA is a young team who plays hard and never quits. I think they will make some noise in girls soccer in the next few years. Good luck to them for the rest of the season.

lf txs, i was proud of our girls lst night & agree that madison had a very good game & so did katie rumble & our whole defense. neil is doing a gr8 job w/ team & i thought the girls looked more aggressive & physical & even confident & they're getting better with each game. we did good against aiken winning 2-1 on pks but i think we played better against a better lex team

1st goal was pretty on gr8 cross & volley & 2nd goal on free kick was unbeleivable i'm getting tired of watching that girl against us i think she assist/scored every goal against us this year has she been at lex for 5 years, just kiddin

lex controlled most of the game at midfield but we had some good defensive plays & lex had some, okay lots, missed opps on offense. even though lex probably has more skill & definite more experience we seemed more aggressive. we have 7 9 graders so well get better, wow did lex have a lot of seniors called out last night before the game, should mean we're gonna get a lot better & give you better games. we played better at mid in last 10 minutes and even got some counters
good luck the rest of the season

With all of the attention given to Region 2 (rightfully so with four teams in the top ten), I think a lot of girls' high school soccer fans forget about the depth we have in Region 4 AAAA. Remember that five teams (more than any other region) from Region 4 AAAA have been in the "scsoccer.com" top fifteen at one time or another this season. Unfortunately, one of those teams will be sitting at home for the playoffs.

I echo your comments about the coaching job being done by Neil Berment. The SA team I saw in Aiken three weeks ago was better than the one at Viking Cup. They were even better last night. When talking about young teams I have to also say that Hank Deer at North Augusta is doing a great job with a team made up mainly of 9th and 10th graders.

Lexington loses seven seniors that will be hard to replace. However, don't expect to see much of a dropoff (if any) in play from Lexington. Expect to see the other teams in Region 4 AAAA improve, and the games in this region to be very competitive. All of the teams from Region 4 AAAA that have been to Lexington this year have been young and very well coached.

Deahler, you're right. The depth in your region is amazing and even annoying for coaches as there is little time in region to "rest up" some of the banged up players.

Oh, almost forgot...

T.L. Hanna 4
Greenwood 0

Score doesn't reflect the actual game. George and Greenwood were in it from the beginning. That team, if not in the top 15, is easily a top...16 or 17 team. They've only been shut out thrice and play fantastic defense.

Dutch Fork 3
Irmo 2

Dutch Fork went up 3-1 with three minutes left and Irmo replied with a Gabby Byrd (sp) goal less than 45 seconds later to make things interesting however Dutch Fork was just to strong defensively. Dutch Fork held on to get a very well deserved win.

Mauldin 1
Byrnes 0

Mauldin scored with around 4 minutes left in the game, and then withstood a furious Byrnes offensive push that included two great defensive plays that saved what appeared to be certain goals.
