Here's a brief re-cap of the Fort Mill/South Pointe game:
South Pointe scored first and basically out-played FM almost the entire game. A late-in-the-game call that resulted in a questionable penalty kick allowed FM to tie the game. FM scored in the first overtime period and hence the 2-1 final score. South Pointe had FM on their heels and controlled play, both physically and mentallly.
Now, with that being said, I do have a child on the South Pointe team but I was NOT at the game. The above recap was told to me by a Fort Mill parent.
With regard to the South Pointe/Northwestern game...Northwestern came out strong from the starting whistle, which is what one would expect. I think South Pointe had given everything they had to the Fort Mill game and were not mentally prepared for what Northwestern dished out. Again, I speak from secondhand information as I was not there to witness the match.
