Summerville recieved a red card for retaliation toward the end of the first half and scored a short handed goal within the first 5 minutes of the second half. WA answered within 5 minutes (ahem) and the game really broke open from there. A few minutes later two players were awkwardly tangled around the corner flag in WA's defensive end. As they grabbed and pulled apart the Summerville player appeared to shake his leg to get free and apparently kicked the WA player. The Summerville player rec'd a red and the WA player rec'd a yellow. In all honesty I didn't see anything worthy of a red from my vantage from the sideline.
I'm proud of how our players reacted under the circumstances of playing 2 men down. We created chances and played with a lot of heart. We eventually broke through and forced the WA keeper into a foul as the last man in defence resulting in a red card. The remainder of the game was very emotional and hectic with the result going to WA in penalties and congratulations to them. I will say again how proud I am of out team for the heart and desire down the stretch in that game. I've spoken to some WA players, parents and supporters and have gotten some supportive wishes and all my best goes to WA. Great game! The only unfortunate result(s) come from the few occasions that will result in disciplinary action. Any news of jail time is pure rumor. Best of luck to both teams as we head towards playoffs.
