I can't provide a recap of Hammond and St. Joe's except for what was written in the Greenville paper. Hammond scored early and played great defense to extend it's streak to 270 minutes without giving up a goal to St. Joe's.

The HHP/BL game was not the blowout that the score indicates. The game was very physical with both sets of parents letting it be known how they felt. There were three yellow cards issued. I thought the center official did a pretty good job considering how physical the play was.

HHP scored a goal 5 minutes in on a great play by freshman midfielder Kathleen Blum. She made a slide tackle on a ball at the 18 that surprised everybody (including the keeper) and went in just inside the post.

The game was played mostly in the middle third with neither team dominating the action. Alexandra Fuller scored for HHP about 20 minutes in to take a 2-0 lead.

Ben Lippen scored on a play initiated by a great throw-in by Merrit Rollins from about 30 yards out about the 38 minute mark to get back to 2-1.

Fuller scored again about 2 minutes later to steal back the momentum and send the game to halftime with a 3-1 lead. The game stayed that way till about halfway through the second half when HHP scored again to tally the final score.
