I was messaging back that I did not really believe Volleyball was a balance for the glut that is Football, as you asserted. Really Volleyball is the balance for wrestling. Numbers/coaching staff size etc.
Unfortunetly, the only way to create real change fast is a law suit or a title IX complaint with the OCR. The solution is simply enforce the law. How many of you have done either? The answer is probably, none since most are in the system, which is probably the smart move. The OCR complaint will raise some eyebrows and make some thigs happen.(seen that happen myself!) The law suit is probably the best method, since the school district will have to pay for the attorneys when they lose. Cases of this type are easy to prove. Most districts only pay lip service to Title IV. You can not sue and do a title IV complaint at the same time. Choose your tool wisely.
Examples are abound, but one local High School Football team of note makes the TV once in a while, with its huge weight room, as a show piece. The "girls" teams are not allowed to use said weight room. To me this should be a point of "shame", and not a show piece. Hey, but that is me.
