WOW-no wonder the defense was so strong and they won 4-0!! Looks like all the SC boys work well together. I hope they get to play together again.

Eric was bummed that he got put on the Oklahoma team and not the SC team when NC had to be split up. He said he should have played with his state ODP team his last year in ODP.

Congrats to all the SC boys and girls at Regional camps.

The underlying question

Why did so many states have partial attendance?

granted the age group may have USSF academy conflicts but certainly other players not in USSF academy could have participated

you would think so. I guess we will wait and see.

91 boys SC 2 vs Fla 2

94 girls coach is Rohan Naraine from Coastal Carolina. They are being trained this week by Matt Hawkey from Univ of Alabama. The report I received today was that we were up 1-0 on pk and STX scored late off a corner kick. The girls are done with regular games(2-0-1) and play in a 7 v 7 tourney tomorrow before coming home.

There are various reasons for lower numbers in the 91 age group. First off, this is the last year for the age group and there isn't a holdover camp, which seems to bring in lower numbers in general. As for the SC team...there were over 23 players in the state pool after the sub-regionals, but several players opted out of attending camp due to injuries, club regionals, family vacations, other summer camps, discipline issues, or for being named an alternate instead of a roster player. But, we shouldn't be concerned with the boys that didn't come...we should commend the players that have made the commitment and great showing in the first pool matches.

As for an update, the 95 boys beat OK 4-0 this morning and the 91 boys tied with FL 2-2 on some very tired legs due to the number of boys that participated in the evening pool match. Also, Matt Sluga was selected to play on the morning pool team v. S Texas and had a solid performance at left back.

Note also for 91 SC boys: Several NC players got a lot of time with the SC team vs Fla due to many SC players involved in the pool game last night. Thus, not a pure "SC" team. Maybe to rest some for the next pool game?
