Just to get a new forum going...If you could coach/play at any school in the state, what would it be and why? Factor in district, resources, finances, etc.

Bishop England.

Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

Based on reputation I'd say Bishop England, but I've never been there.

So what is the reputation of Bishop England that makes them ideal for soccer? Although they win a state title every year they are still playing in 2A aren't they? What do college coaches think about the league you play in private, 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A? I know club is probably more important. I would expect the replies to be mostly 4A schools with a couple of 3A schools mixed in. Due to competition levels I wouldn't consider a private school (nor one that plays 2A) to be an ideal situation for soccer. Well at least in SC.

On the girls' side, BE posted a win against Wando, the 4A state champs, last season. I'd say that's evidence that they can compete at any level. I really think it's doing both BE and the schools they compete with an injustice to have them playing at the 2A level when they could be successful competing against much larger schools.

Berkeley High School! As an alumni and former player current coach and parent of three that have or are playing. Open air training ground, vast amounts of positive attitude kids. Is there anything else? Oh yeah on the back 40 when it's all muddy and the wind is bending the pines ain't nothing better.
