I'm going to beat a dead horse on this one, but if MPSC, DISA and BFA would get their 94-95-96 ages groups under one prgram, state titles would return to the lowcountry.

A certain DOC's cash cow is losing ground (read: getting older, graduating out), he will either move on to 'greener pastures' or the merger will happen (to 're-grow' that cash cow). Just a matter of time.

However, I suspect that if said DOC is a part of the merger, the rest of the state would be rather happy - if you know what I mean!

Who do you think would crawl into bed with the said DOC?

Charleston would continue to be second to upstate as they cannot get their act together. The more disorganized the clubs the more the low country lose it top players to other clubs outside Charleston. So these kids would be someone else's cash cow. Great term Reccos

Okay...enough already..Reality..There is no mergers in sight so it's the clubs fault because they will not join together..What do you do about it? Stay home and hope the other kids come to our place..That's what most want to happen..If you have a core of five or six good players but are frustrated with the current situation..Pack up and join the five or six players at the club across town and your team gets stronger..It's not where or who you play for in the lowcountry..It's where the core of strong players are..Parents can make that happen but somebody is going to have to drive..Drive in hopes of progress for your player or stay home and whine..Which is it?

CHT makes a strong point...a "merger" can be accomplished by players and parents that completely bypasses any of the "ego" or "unwilling to cooperate" problems that have been stated about the powers-that-be. Just get together, decide on a coach and/or system that you feel you can be happy playing for, and sign up together...there's all the merging you need to form a solid, unified, competitive team.
