HPU facilities are hard to beat. Prez has done an outstanding job raising funds and making the campus first class. That along with small classes, strong academics, and many D1 sport programs, make it an exciting place to go to school.
HPU has also attracted strong athletes to its women's soccer program but its leadership has been lacking big time. Development of clics, favoritism, no strong discipline or accountablity, yet have had success (2 Big South Championships, a few other times in finals) in spite of themselves.
Hopefully Coach Beall will bring professionalism to the program which is much needed.
For whatever reason, HPU has seemed to recruit strong in the Northeast part of the country and a spot or two elsewhere. My guess is that the focus of their recruiting is at WAGS, CASL, etc. and dependent on players reaching out to HPU and letting them know there is an interest. Speaking from personal experience, my daughter was recruited to HPU (after verbal commit to Kent State) when they saw her play at CASL with her San Diego Surf team. Mens program no better. I even recommended a few SC and NC players that were never contacted.
Coach Beall has the opportunity to do some amazing things at HPU, even with possible financial restrictions. HPU has some pretty solid academic support options.
