The referees have a hard enough time interpreting the rules of the game let alone if someone is a high scorer.
In last nights game I felt that the ref was trying to maintain control over the game by sending a message to the players. It may have been too harsh but I felt the refs controlled the game pretty well. Yes it was physical but sloppy games like that can get out of hand in a hurry and tempers flare.
The bigger issue must be for the high school league to realize that soccer should have 3 refs at all games. This would limit the frustrations of so many players on the pitch and surely reduce the crap calls that are all too common. I know we are lucky to have refs now and the cost is always a factor. A solution just requires thought!
Although one sided the game was fun to watch. CN really played soccer and picked AC Flora's defense apart. The rain really didn't pick up until the end of the 1st half and by that time the game was decided.
