Here is some additional information on Mr. Webb:

Stephen H. Webb

Seems to be a very unsettled guy. He writes to amuse himself.

"Mr. Webb is a professor of religion and philosophy at Wabash College."

Are we sure he's not a professor of religion and philosophy at Hogwash College?

basically he sais his daughter is stupid for playing soccer because girls are "too smart to waste an entirte day playing soccer."

It is suprising that this guy cares little enough about his kids interests.

Mr. Webb gets it!

"I found myself watching the shoving, the hand checks, the body positioning as much as the feet. And the feet! Soccer gives new meaning to the word deft. The dribbling was every bit as intense and controlled as basketball, but it was more impressive precisely because feet are not supposed to be as useful as hands. The number and variety of kicks were astounding: scoops, touches, sliding kicks, high kicks, chest kicks, shin kicks, slices, digs, boots, and shuffles. Coaches must choreograph rather than diagram plays."

You've got to have sympathy for the soccer players who have to take one of his classes...

well, it makes me laugh to read this article and read that 3 of his kids play soccer; sounds like he really supports them as he has no clue what they are doing as he reads books as they play...keep reading there buddy! i am sure he is one of those people who was in the books all day and never played sports...to each their own about anything...but soccer is a great game and more enjoyable to watch than baseball-how hard is it to hit a baseball that and run a few bases...i could go on and on and rip on other sports as this professor of theology and religion has done to soccer but i won't...to each their own!!!
