Spartanburg contained Mauldin in the opening period of each half. Mauldin controlled most of the rest of the play. The first half goal came from a through ball from Lauren Young to Gracie Boswell leaving her to score from a one on one with the goalie. Again, in the second half Lauren Young crossed a low ball from the sideline, which Boswell volleyed into the net.
Two well-coached teams, the play was hard but fair. The two-referee system worked well and it was an excellent game to watch.
