As mentioned in the first post, the parents are responsible for travel expenses. What you read is what you get. CESA is not the first club to fund its programs. The Texans, for example, are funded. I don't think Pearse and Andrew have ever been accused of being used car salesmen.I did not see any fine print.

Man City. This is not like the Columbia thing. The Premier team and the Elite team are one in the same- they are the same team.If you make the Premier team, you will participate in the Elite League and you will not pay training fees to CESA aside from the $100 registration. You'll then be responsible for travel.

The rationale was up front. In looking to offset expenses for parents, CESA will make this good faith gesture.Why won't you believe this. I'm getting frustrated with this so I'm finished with it.

I am not intending to make you a frustrated poster, but I was thinking about players who don't make the CESA premier team. The CESA challenge / classic team players will play training fees ? Correct. Just trying to understand the fee schedule for Fall of 2009 for all CESA teams.

Man City. Correct.I believe that Chall/Classic players still have normal fees to pay.

So, I understand that you pay nothing more except travel for the ECNL. The CESA Premiere teams particpating in the Region III leagues, as well as the ECNL, also pay nothing but the $ 100.00? I don't see that spelled out in the release. The document really doesn't specify how the costs are handled for the Region III league teams- from Aug- Nov

I'm not sure why the club would subsidize these teams for the Region III league. I understand helping with the additional costs associated with the ECNL- it will get expensive

It's a bit brave to compare the funding of CESA and Texans in the same sentence I must say. They have over 2000 kids playing select soccer and huge corporate sponsors to do so.

You think it's "what you see is what you get" and it's just natural for all of us that have been around youth soccer for some time now to doubt that parents will only have to pay 100$ plus. I sure hope you are right for the sake of those parents that got really excited about the idea of going to Las Vegas Showcase or Eclipse for 100$ registration fee, 70$ tournament entry fee and travel costs.

Utd- don't put words in my mouth. I think I said this was not the first time that this has been done and used an example of a club- The Texans- that had done so previously. Don't see where I compare CESA to the Texans.

I'm not pushing any words into your mouth. For some reason you get way too excited about comments on this forum and take too many things personal. Few things have been said and only time will tell how much those parents will actually have to pay (my 2 cents is that it will be a bit more complicated then 100$ registration). When that happens we can bring this conversation back to life.
If the powers in the Upstate think that "almost" free premier soccer is the way to go then I hope it works out for the best of the kids and their parents, but who will pay for the gas so they can drive those Land Rovers then? We will find out for sure in couple of weeks...

I asked some questions today. If you try out for the 92, 93 or 94 CESA girls teams and you are selected to the Premier team, you will:

play in the Region 3 Premier League East
play in State Cup
play in ECNL (4 events including the national championship)
train 3 times per week
pay $100 reg. fee
pay for your individual travel
NOT pay for your coach's travel expense
NOT pay any training fees
NOT pay for a uniform
possibly take advantage of reduced travel costs for players to ECNL events

There is no seperation between the Premier team and the ECNL team. The Premier team will participate in the ECNL in addition to regular Premier team functions.

Again, the TOTAL price is $100 plus individual travel expenses.

I guess this is why CESA didnt ask for any input from the investors(parents)when they decided to try this league.At first, I thought CESA was just saying,"This is what we are going to do and if you dont like it take a hike."But if its affordable,this will help with some of the travel costs,it could be a good thing!
