I am told the first determiner between those two is head-to-head competition. Looks like Region 8's #4 will be Summerville, and since we lost to them in the second game of our season, they will apparently get to go. Thanks to the SCHSL's realignment based on geography rather than evening the regions and their decision to let the mostly-Columbia area have five teams in the playoffs...

...looks like Berkeley girls will be the first and only fourth-seed AAAA girls' team in the state of South Carolina NOT to go to the playoffs.

Hate it for my girls...they are playing better and harder than they have in the past...hard to explain to them that they haven't gone backwards or down the ladder...the League just took away the rung we were standing on.

All the more motivation to get better next year.



Who would the region V #5 (Aiken or N. Augusta) play in the first round? Number 1 region 5 (Dutch Fork) or region VI #1 (West Florence)? The bracket states they will be "...placed appropriately".
