it's the practice sessions that do the most damage to a field. just playing games is not a big problem.

playing the girls season in the fall would be a big conflict with club ball. likely to increase injuries. some coaches resent/penalize their players for going to club related sessions/games during the spring/hs season.

numbers.. I love numbers... but sometimes you cannot find them. I still would love to see a complete breakdown of the cost to the school district of each sport including salaries.
And no.. no hiding the AD salary into the school budget if he is also the football coach... I cannot understand how someone can get paid 100k/year for coaching a HS sport... but there I go again.

In NC Boy soccer is played in the Fall, girls in the spring.. Maybe even have the same coach.

Fall sports in SC (someone please correct me)

FOOTBALL
volleyball (female)
swimming
cross country
Tennis (female)
Golf (female)

No male sport is essentially allowed to compete with FOOTBALL. Those that try out for swimming and cross country would most likely not be playing football anyway (different athlete type)

And Letme... In NC seem to work, I am sure the NCYSA worked around this issue

The problem is fields, specifically for training

You have a field for varsity, one for JV, one for B team, one for the band, one for the waterboys, you get my drift

I still remember the time the soccer team was unable to practice (DURING THE SOCCER SEASON) because of varsity spring training

SCYSA would welcome this and I'm sure they would be glad to move the U15-U18 cup season to the spring so the state cup would be just before the regionals like all the other states in Region 3 except NC girls.

Ah! Mr. Stats strike again.

As we engineers say....Numbers are our friends.

They mean different things in different people's hands. Sometimes, the only number that matters is what shows up on the scoreboard.

Kevin, looks like some states are listed at multiple times? What is the explanation? Had not seen that before. VA for example; CA on all 3!
