Just playing devil's advocate, but IF we can make the assumption that a coach like Anson Dorrance simply takes talent that's already developed and puts them into a winning formation without further developing them, then wouldn't it be rational, by extension, to assume the same about any other organization that recruits and draws players from other developmental organizations for the stated purpose of putting together a regionally and nationally competitive team?

And since I think we can (I think) safely assume that development continues at the highest level of club play, even though top-level players are brought from other areas into a consolidated team, then we might also likewise assume that the same kind of continued development occurs at the college level after those coaches do their similar recruiting for competitive teams as well.

I've got good news and bad news...
