So what's the right answer coach?
For everyone but CESA.....making State Cup Final 4 is a big deal. The week leading up to the weekend is fun and the tension builds. In past years...our kids have gotten together for team dinners and things like that. Its a cool week.
For 3 out of the 4 92 boys teams.....that experience is kicked to the curb. I don't know what the answer is, but this just isn't right.
I guess my thought was.....when the NL schedule was announced SCYSA knew they had a conflict. Why didn't SCYSA address this at that time. Maybe pull the boys forward a week?
Not sure who said it......but I agree with them. This isn't a CESA thing so much as its apparently poor planning on the part of SCYSA.
Maybe SC should do what GA does.......Fall season, but State Cup in Spring.

Wrong - not during high school season - the natives would be restless then for sure!

Coach P,
Are you saying that CESA should not have accepted their 'invitation' to participate in the National League?
You have stated the obvious regarding the USYSA requirement. BUT what does this have to do with my question regarding SCYSA having an obligation to USYSA to solve this issue?
No.
Just saying that an application does not mean they weren't invited.
Because the NL teams are required to play in their State Cup and there is a NL conflict, the state association has an obligation to make sure they can play in their State Cup. Remember SCYSA is the exception and the rest of the nation shouln't have to accomodate SCYSA. Someone has to make a change to resolve the conflict and the logical one to do that is the single entity that is the exception to the rule.

I believe GA's high school season is in the spring as well. How do they keep the "natives" from being restless? Again, SC is the only state in Region III that does not have their State Cup in the Spring.

I know - Let's get Jerome Singleton of the SCHSL - he can resolve conflicts with the best of 'em.

Coach P and Manchester,
This obligation thing, is it a feeling that you both share or is this written someplace for all to read?

SCYSA is still praying for rain! It looks like the weather Saturday could be really nasty! If I remember correctly Manchester Meadows is pretty strict with their fields when it come to weather. If Saturday gets canceled do they move the whole weekend?

As I said, someone has to change to resolve the conflict. SCYSA is the only state organization with a State tournament that weekend. So they should be the ones to change instead of everyone else.

Hurst,
Wasn't the weather crappy last night at the game??? Apparently, Manchester only cancels regular season games. Or maybe SCYSA told them the game had to be played, regardless of weather?!?!?!?!?!?!
