Is Academy now the tip of the iceberg? Is the goal simply a D1 college scholarship. Are Wake and UNC the end or just the means? Are we looking at a professional career?

Why waste time with Region 3, the NL and the Academy. By 16 years of age shouldn't the boy be overseas, learning his trade and making his way in England? What's the total cost of a full year of Academy? $3,500? $5,000?
There are enough British coaches on this side of the pond that could get an English club to look at your boy for that kind of an investment.
Why wait until he's 21? I'd find out now.

For some kids the goal is a D1 scholarship or a professional opportunity. For other kids they just enjoy the game and the camraderie.
Academy is for kids who are locked in on the first scenario. SCYSA is an eclectic organization that represents all kids.....from a CESA 92 Premier kid to a 14 year old playing Classic 2 for the first time.
Which path you choose depends on what your child is interested in and gifted in. Is an English youth program a better option? No clue, but probably. Would I send my 15 year old to live in England apart from us? No....I don't really see that as being in his best interests, longterm, all things considered.
