I do not disagree with you regarding players, and I'll even go a step further and say that I'd be willing to bet good money that there are kids who are now playing challenge who could play on any team in this state.
But, regarding the other, you might not have noticed that I said "if any parent is currently driving their child past an Academy team to play for cesa."
Believe me, I know exactly what you mean about the commitment (time, money and otherwise). My spouse and I are extremely lucky that we are able to afford this (although my car will probably have a half-million miles on it by the time we have enough money to replace it, and my yard is suffering terribly, not to mention my ever-expanding honey-do list), we both have fairly flexible work schedules, we have a fantastic carpool coordinator and our other child is no longer living at home full-time (and I have probably left out several other reasons) We try to take none of our blessings for granted.
Now that you mention it, though, if a person is determined enough, they should be able to make it work. The Academy offers scholarships, and most people live close enough to another player to catch rides. I'm not saying that every single person out there is going to be able to do it, but if you want to badly enough, I believe many more cases than you think can do it.
But, again, as I mentioned, if you are driving past an Academy team to play for cesa, you are already dealing with most of the same issues that you would be with Academy.
