For those reasons I can understand the additions to the teams..What topic do we tackle next?
The effects of global warming on future state cups in which CESA is involved?

My mistake. I only followed the link from the SCUFC web site. Didn't check the year. They clearly had a superior year. Congrats.

Be part of the championship team all season long..not for two weeks..
My point was that they still have plenty of players willing to play the entire season to be on a potential championship team even though they are known to bring in players for "two weeks". I don't think they are leaving the club in droves because of it.
Held my tongue through 20-odd pages of this because I had nothing particularly useful to say, but I have to ask this question...are we defining what is right and fair by what people are willing to put up with without leaving? Because that opens up a whole world of possibilities.
I've got good news and bad news...

I guess everyone loves a winner..even if you have to take a seat and watch it happen..I would rather lose playing..

So it's "ethical" and "in the spirit of the game" when one team transfers a player that was not on the team all season (completely within the rules), but it's not "ethical" and "in the spirit of the game" when it is done (again, completely within the rules) by the other team who happened to be the team that won?
It becomes not "ethical" when college IMPACT players are used consistently by cesa as part of a game plan to win State Cup.
I believe you called it a practice used regularly. Still does not make it right. Does every club at the U18 level need to leave a few spots on their roster so they can add college level players in order to compete with cesa at State Cup?
It's a loophole that needs to be closed and I planned to bring it up after State Cup, win or lose.

Coach, I was responding to an analogy that compared this to a DOC taking over a coach's team at the last minute before a state cup game and I said not many coaches would continue to coach under those conditions. I just meant to be saying that if the conditions were that bad, players would be leaving and they are not.
I have coached in several state cups and teams I coached won two. I have added players mid-season but not just before the roster freeze so they could play at the State Cup. But I have taken guest players to tournaments and I think both situations are similiar in that it really depends on how it is handled. Players do not like to have guest players come in and take their playing time unless they see a benefit in it for them and they feel that it is being done fairly. When there is a shortage of players due to injuries or other absences, they are usually happy to have the assistance as long as they don't feel they would get less playing time than they would if their injured/absent teammates were there. So I don't think we should out-and-out comdemn players being added or guest players being used across the board. It is a case-by-case situation that has to be handled by the coach hopefully in a way that is beneficial to all involved.
But I do feel like it is a demand driven situation. If these types of things are being mis-handled to the point of mass disatisfaction, players will leave and either changes will be made or the program will fail to be prosperous.

Nobody has brought up this point, but the thought occurs to me that another reason both MP and CESA added players to their rosters is because in case they win state cup, they will need those players at regionals. They can only take the players that are on the roster at state cup and if both rosters were on the light side, they will need them. Also, especially at the u18 age group, I've noticed that players find other things to do come regionals time.

I don't agree that it is un-ethical to use college players any more than to use a player who had previously played at any higher level such as ODP, regional teams, national youth teams, etc. I disagree that this is a loop hole that needs to be closed and I guess we will just cancel each other's vote with SCYSA.

I'm going to exit this thread now because I think we are just re-hashing the same arguments. I think I've made my position clear that I don't think it is un-ethical to do something that is clearly within the rules. If the rules get changed to make it against the rules, then it would become illegal, and should be sanctioned.
