I would like to commend Coach McNeely and the Lady Wildcats for a show of class last night. After their team was introduced before the game, the entire team and coaches proceeded to midfield and unrolled a banner they made honoring Coach Troy Bennage of AMHS who is retiring after this season. In addition, they presented him a soccer ball signed by the players and coaches with personal comments added by each. Coach Bennage has coached HS soccer for 30 years and is one of the original HS soccer coaches in SC. He is a handful of wins away from 500 wins for his career and he should eclipse that mark this season.

Congratulations to West Ashley for the victory and good luck this season.

Nice new Mondo-Turf field at SHS. Sliding gives you rug-burn, and the white, blue, and red lines are a bit confusing (the yellow lines are for soccer ) but a very nice new facility.

Last night Irmo visited Spring Valley for the Ashley Nicole Dent Memorial Game. Had fought game by both squads even though Irmo controlled most of the game. The Seniors in this game showed fine sports manship, many times the ladies would check on the opposition after heavy contact. Many of the girls having played against each other for 4 years and some being on the same club team for many years together, This game also was most likely that they will face each other on the field. Both teams honored the meaning of this game with fine hard play and outstanding sportsmanship
