I am creating this thread to retract, in it's entirety, a comment that I made in posting a score March 17. One of the RH coaches had been given a yellow card by the referee. I named the wrong coach. I am sorry for that. However, I should have made no comment at all. My thinking at the time was that it was a glib comment. It has not been perceived as such, and has caused a great deal of grief for the RH coaches, staff, and team. I wish I could delete the post, but I cannot. I am sorry to all involved. The RH coaches have done nothing wrong. Leave them alone.

In the future, I will confine myself to posting only the scores of relevant games so that they may be entered into the data base.

Thank you.

Given the manner in which you phrased it I think anyone who thought you were being critical of the coach simply wanted to be a troll!
The real question here is the conduct of the ref. Had the coach been warned? If what was said matched what has been posted, I have no doubt it does based the character of the poster, then why would the Ref feel such a comment was worthy of a card?
Seems to be another case of a ref being over sensitive to having thier ability questioned (not that I see the commment as questioning the refs ability). I am guessing the coach wanted the ref to control the play a little more, it was a one sided game and there was no need to let the play get out of hand.
Shame the coach is questioned on her behavior, and the ref gets a free pass! The coach was trying to protect her players, who is the ref trying to protect by carding the coach?
Who holds the ref acountable for players that are injured when they fail to control the game? Does anyone track the "stats" of these refs? I know for a fact there are refs that call some players harder than other, I have seen it, and Realmccoy I know you know of at least one.

PS Do not let those who are always looking to stir the pot stop you from contributing more than just numbers! I think we could have a whole thread/section devoted to reffing problems! Not that all ref are bad, but there is a problem with the current system)

No, it was my one night off that week without one of my own kids games to go to. Can not spend every night at the pitch! Did make it 3 out of 4 nights though!(throw in Sat and I got in 4 games in 5 days, and would have been 5 in 6 with Sunday but alas work/money has to figure in there somewhere, HATE missing games .

Was careful in my post not to imply I saw/heard it, but that I know the poster who explained what was said and that was good enough for me. If you think I missed something drop me a PM.

Since you were not there, why not let the man apologize without comments. A good policy is if you don't have something positive to contribute, then say nothing. If you have something positive to contribute then you might want to keep quiet unless it concerns you.

Another example is you jumped the gun the other night about the Fort Mill Tournament seeding for Sunday's games when you were in no position to comment. You did not have a dog in the hunt, were not at the fields and were not involved in the decisions involving the changes. Yet you saw fit to involve yourself and make a long day even longer for the parent volunteers. I guess we should have notified you and gotten your approval....but wait....no one knows who you are.....or so you think. I for one was fielding calls until 1:00 am, others were sending out and responding to emails thanks to your sticking your nose where it didn't belong. These people had kids playing the next morning and needed accurate information. The teams knew when they needed to arrive before they left the fields, they didn't need your involvement as if something had changed.

After being at the fields since 7:00 that morning, I was not a happy camper to say the least. Neither were many of the parents and coaches who you stirred up with your nonsense. Next year you will be part of the Fort Mill Girls Soccer Family, the tournament committee looks forward to your being a parent volunteer and giving us a hand.

Oh,one last thing, you might consider apologizing to the kids at Northwestern High School. You do owe them an apology for your out of line comments directed at them. They are a great bunch of kids with some great coaches, and they deserve better than your ugly comments. Lets see if you have the class of the Real McCoy?

Have a good night.

I guess you havent seen many of the chiefs comments...they are usually about his opinion, and not factual. The saying goes, everybodies got an opinion ,and.....you can fill the rest.

Nice to see you could chime in with something other than an insult! As for the factual part you are welcome to go back to the posts you are hinting at and offer your correction of the fact else wise I would submit you are just sniping rather than offering anything of value. If your facts show other than what I said I would be happy to change my opinion, other wise I will consider you that name you called me

I think that sometimes it seems that coaches get a bad rap for trying to protect their players. If you will be honest with yourself, I am sure that 90% of people have made a comment to or about an official from the stands while watching as a fan/parent. Imagine being in the heat of the moment with the pressure that is put on a coach to WIN and then ask yourself what you would have done if you were in the situation that the coach was in.
I was not there, but I have never met a coach that said "I am going to tick off the ref tonight for no reason". I stand behind the Rock Hill coach and say that more than likely my actions on the sideline would have been similar to his.
Let the coaches coach!
