Very true, Rush will actually have a great chance at becoming the better club in the area as long as "he" is the "head" of Discoveries. I wonder when he will realize the only reason the city put him in that position is because he is controllable.

Sweet, you say "taking state cups from NC and CESA" as if that were the measure of success for a club. Is that what you're suggesting?
And when you say "a club like CESA top to bottom" do you mean the top of cesa, or THE top? Not the same thing. Sorry, but they just aren't the king of the hill anymore.

CESA are still Queens of the Hill, no matter how you cut it. State champs at EVERY age group and participants in the national league. Show me another South Carolina club that is even close on the girls side. Don't knock Big Red until somebody competes with them at both genders.
Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

Wasn't knocking them – just responding to sweet, and saying that winning state cups is no longer the measure of success for a club. girls side, maybe, but not the boys. and that "national weekend" thing was just a consolation prize.
I will give you every bit of credit for that other one...
Says Hurst: "cesa are still queens" on this hill... (but, somehow, i don't think hyslop & tormey are gonna like that moniker)

Yes I was, how do you define club success ? BTW there are plenty of good clubs in SC with very good coaching, CESA just has more options for parents and players.

501c designation doesn't preclude them from profit, its just a tax entity designation

I was just saying I am unsure how the "non-profit" part works with what looks like a for profit setup. (franchise fees, and corperate kickback for required uniform kits etc..) Not saying it is wrong or not a better way to run soccer club just seems like they are a for profit setup for the Colorodo Rush company. Just wondering what the real "deal" is, being on the outside make it hard to know what happens on the inside.

chief, not sure what you're hung up on or your point. my original statement is correct & i refuse to bore anyone, but np's are allowed to make money & depending on the source of revenue, they won't be taxed on it.
again, its just an organization that qualified for 501c for tax purposes.
