I guess this will make three clubs in South Carolina that have any chance of seriously winning state championships and going on to region tournaments, CUFC, CESA and now Rush. (My favorite band ever, haha not really)

That may be a bit pre-mature. The issues still remain are the mystery staff. Both Rob and Vic are working in NC as well. No other staff members have been mentioned. If the assumption is that they will coach all of the teams (how many are listed...), it will spread two coaches very thin. SC is not as logistically friendly as NC. It is close to impossible to run multiple teams in SC just due to the travel logistics.
So let's be careful about our declarations of success.

Also, they have not even been approved as SC affiliated club- so yes pre-mature. SCYSA meets in in June to decide.

Where are they going to play games? Manchester is not assured.

???? Are you saying kids could be trying out for teams that may not be approved to play??? Seems like you have more info on this process/club than we are seeing anywhere else.

all new clubs affiliation forms are due June 1. the scysa board votes on new affilatons, name changes, etc at the meeting June 5.
so yes, players could be trying out and accept a position to a club that is still not approved.

Technically they could stay that way, if the board said no to the merger. (right?)

What merger? Don't you mean "name change"?

I believe the name change involves the merger of the smaller clubs it plans on taking over and combining the Academy teams, who are named SCUFC already (I think at least), with the rest of the clubs branches in Columbia and the Low Country
