I was surprised to see the new CESA-Spartanburg (formerly USA) charging a $30 tryout fee. That will be a cultural change for the Spartanburg soccer player. Heard that, similar to past years, Carolina FC will not be charging a fee.

The tryout fee comes back out of your fees if the player stays. I do not see how that is a culture shock.

Dear Culture Shock,

Unless of course CESA - Spartanburg will be playing by different rules than CESA - Greenville I believe you are mistaken!

But I am open to education so hit me with the literature that supports your claim. Those trying out in Greenville are eager to know!
