letmeputittooyouthisway Goal L Joined: May 2007 Posts: 541 columbia	they lost last night 1-0 to coastal. anyone see the game? box score indicated breakaway goal in the 90th minute. things not looking good for clemson going into acc play. i think HS is in over his head...........they should be better and have the players to be better

Loves to Play goal kick L Joined: May 2009 Posts: 127	We went to the game last night and it was very evenly matched. Coastal was fast and finished when it counted. Clemson had opportunity to score but Coastal's defense was solid. Good game overall-could have gone either way.

Not only is the team young, but due to the large number of injured players they are deep into the bench in order to field a team and get thru a game. The teams top 2 forwards didn't suit up last night. The top scorer was in the hospital. With that said, Clemson played 80% of the game in the offensive zone, but had no finishers on the field. Coastals goal didn't come on a breakaway, but rather on a defensive error in the box with 7 seconds to go. It may have been the only time Coastal had players in their offensive 18 all game. Other than that, Clemson dominated play throughout the game. I will hold my opinions on coaches, specific players and specific injuries. http://nc-soccer.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=26800

Coastal came out a little flat the 2nd half but was pouring it on the last 20 min of play. It was only a matter of time before they scored and they did. It was certainly not "the only time they were in their offensive 18 all game". Clemson may have had injuries but they played even most of the match-I didn't see any domination by either team IMO.

keeepersd2002 Corner Kick K Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 225	in what i read on the ccu website..the stats were pretty even for both teams so i don't see how ccu was not in the game...it did sound like clemson had their chances and ccu defense played very solid...BUT then ccu goes to play georgia southern and loses 1-0 today...
