5) In the current incestuous system, too many parents are afraid to ask questions, lest they be deemed troublemakers and their kids penalized in questionable selection processes. Recently, one veteran soccer parent (multiple kids) suggested that, while he agreed with what I said, I should be careful where I say it. While I can't disagree, I'd say that underlying fear is PRECISELY why we are where we are in South Carolina. A lot of informed, well-intentioned parents are afraid to tweek the powers that be (whose incomes and opportunities we supply through exorbitant fees).
