6) The concept of EXPOSURE. Too many club coaches are selling it; too many college tuition-fearing parents are buying it. What SHOULD be sold is the quality of training and the club's overall vision.
7) Support for the American player. Next time a college/ODP coach waxes poetic on the subject of soccer in America, and why your child NEEDS to be in ODP, google his college team's website and check out the roster. If it's 50% foreign -- and THOSE are the guys getting the grants-in-aid -- you'll know whose future he REALLY cares about; i.e., his own. You might also count how many kids are from South Carolina, or even the Carolinas.
