If I read an earlier post correctly, it was implied that there are no specific rules against Academy kids playing ODP, and indeed, last December, I saw just that at Orlando, where Academy kids played for ODP side.
In reality, the reverse "embargo" is true. In Tuscaloosa, I saw at least 6 kids (from various states including ours) planning to play Academy in 2010-11, mysteriously excluded from holdover rosters. What made it worse is that the parents weren't told this was the plan beforehand, and therefore weren't able to make an informed decision regarding the value of their child's participation.
Again, transparency and fundamental honesty should be baseline values of ANY program.
But not, historically, SC ODP.
