Someone please tell me what meeting I missed where the current and previous year's members of the ECNL teams from SC were presented the options of... 1) playing USYSA (R3PLE/ODP), 2) playing ECNL, or 3) playing both? Let's say this year I know #3 is the only option available, IF my daughter stays with the club. Someone please tell me what meeting I missed where the current members, players and parents, were allowed input regarding the selection of ECNL events to be attended especially regarding the scheduling of events creating pending conflicts with ODP tryouts and Viking Cup? There is a difference between what the players are committing to and what the club is committing the players to after all the clubs in the state have concluded tryouts, have made their selections, and the players' parents are sitting in a season start-up meeting. (The 4th option, not mentioned above, was chosen by half of what would have been my daughter's club's U-18 player pool this year... play somewhere else.)

Can those pending conflicts be resolved? Yes. By the players? No. Which brings us back to my original point relative to this thread. If those at the club responsible for creating the conflicts choose not to resolve the conflicts, specifically those conflicts that will prevent players from participating in ODP, and those at the club responsible for creating the conflicts sit on a state level committee created to improve SC ODP do not work from that side to resolve conflict with tryouts and support his/her club's players' participation... a conflict of interests exists. If the conflict between ECNL events and ODP tryouts is chosen not to be resolved, then resolve the conflict of interests that exists IMHO within the committee.

As far as ECNL vs. USYSA... Hey, ECNL has a lot of fine teams, R3PLE has a lot of fine teams, just as good. Based on this year's R3PLE final standings ( ) can either league present all the competition SC teams can handle? My daughter's team drove to Charlotte last month for an R3PLE game with CASL. My daughter's team flew to Seattle last summer for an ECNL game with... CASL. To borrow a line from Hobo, "ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?"
