The point isn't that training at Region Camp is expected to IMPROVE a player, but that training should be the highest of quality as it (purportedly) is used to evaluate players.

Any coach worth a darn knows that the best venue for evaluation is not a glorified all-star game with kids who don't train together regularly, but RATHER a series of fast-paced, well-run training sessions in which kids are physically and mentally pushed to the limit.

And, by the way, I humbly disagree with uniformly positive comments about the "value" offered by a certain coach who miissed several important (and expensive) team activities and arrived a day late to Tuscaloosa.
