Any thoughts or scores on first round games?

Most of the favorites will win.

As for second round games, or state semi-finals.....

I think the SCU-MP U-16 girls will make life difficult for whoever they draw on that Saturday in Rock Hill.

I think SAT's could make it difficult on some of the olders the first weekend.

I believe the U17 girls South Carolina United FC-Mount Pleasant Elite (wow, that's a mouthful) team will do quite well! Very impressive side!

There are 7 SAT test dates (2 have passed) for this school year. (10/9/10, 11/6/10, 12/4/10,1/22/11,3/12/11,5/7/11, 6/4/11). I know with the travel schedule for some of the older teams that it's hard to find a date with no conflict. But come on, this is State Cup. The date has been out for a while. Why would any player on a team in contention schedule to take the SAT on this date.

Predictions U-17 Boys

1. CESA 93 Premier vs SC United 93 Elite
CESA should win. Could be interesting. Two former players from SC United now play for CESA.
2. Palmetto United vs Coast FA

The outcome for the first round games should be intuitive. But what is great about this game, "on any given day". Just look at some of the first round matches from last year.

Predictions U-17 Boys

1. CESA 93 Premier vs SC United 93 Elite
I understand that SC United had to forfeit a match for their coach getting a red card and not having a backup coach on the bench. Dropped them to last seed. Great young men on both teams. CESA should win. Could be interesting. Two former players from SC United now play for CESA.
2. Palmetto United vs Coast FA
Palmetto United has had a tough first year in Premier League. Have faced tough comp. which should count. I understand that Conner Agnew left team to play for North Meck Academy. Coast was the spoiler in first round last year. Could go either way.
3. CESA 93 Challenge vs CFC 93 Boys
CESA is a solid team. Did well winning challenge league this year. These two teams tied 1-1 in league play. CESA should win.
4. SC United MP vs SC United Palmetto 1
The two teams tied 2-2 in league play. Palmetto team lost their last match to SCU Elite 4-0 after beating same team twice in scrimmages during the season. If Palmetto 1's keeper is on, Eudy's boys should prevail. Drawback: they had to give up homefield advantage and will travel to MP on Thurs night to compete.

SC United Palmetto over SC United MP 1-0. Hard fought game on both sides. MP had a lot of chances, some off target, but Palmetto goalie played very well. He should be given a lot of credit for the win.

Unfortunately the center ref blew the final whistle right in the middle of a massive scrabble in front of Palmetto's goal. MP was coming on strong the whole game, but particularly in the last few minutes. No telling if that ball would have eventually gone in, but I've never seen a ref end the game in the middle of something like that.
