I agree with you. Will also tell you.....IMO that it takes a year for a team new to R3 to adapt to the higher level of play.

South Carolina United Dad bench S Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 7	Here is a question for some of the soccer experts.....Some of the SCYSA rules were in place when all the kids played for a SCYSA team. Then the Academy came in to play and a few years later the ECNL. I beleive that both programs are register US Club. Should SCYSA change a few rules? Maybe kids that play on SCYSA teams should not be able to go out of district to play on another team? Maybe duel roster players like NC does? This weekend I watch a few teams play that had kids out of district on their team. Some got very little playing time if any at all. Does not make sense to be roster on a top team in the state if you don't get playing time. Some of this kids could go to another team in their district and get more playing time! And duel roster if they want to play Academy or ECNL.

soccer11 kick off S Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 32	Listen,South Carolina is to small of population base to be dividing the talent pool.In NC Greensboro combined with Twin Cities at the academy level ONLY to form the NC Fusion, if SC did this it would be fruitful for both( CESA ,SC United).I mean supposedly everyone wants to do whats best for the kids.. right.

Kids from Mount Pleasant, Columbia, and York County going to Greenville to play. Which maybe wouldn't be so bad......if the net result was a collection of dominating teams. But thats really not the case. Take the u17 boys.....to win State Cup, CESA had to beat SCU's 2nd team, 3rd team, and then their own 2nd team. Every game......a 1 goal game. Not just that age group.....everything seems to be sliding towards mediocrity." I don't get your point here. You say this proves mediocrity. The fact that there were 3 one goal games tells me there was good competition, nothing less.

soccer11 kick off S Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 32	My point is that it is frustrating to see this talent not playing as one.At one time SC had only a few high quality players now we have enough to field a team at these age groups.Better teams means better development.

coldhardtruth hat-trick C Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 1,521 Summerville	The consolidation of clubs over the last five years has made for stronger player pools and while there has not been much success in region ball..Can we imagine what the scores would have been without consolidation? If the idea is to move another step forward..It would take the best players from each club forming statewide teams.. I have to say that I miss the crosstown rivalry games and I felt there was more of a chance of any club winning state but with the efforts to be more competitive outside the state..The games instate are more watered down and not all games but most the scores are predetermined...
