"One foot on the dock and one foot in the boat" never works. Belmont can't have it both ways. Terrible decision on their part to let the coach go.

Was she ever a "threat" to her players? I don't believe so. Her private life was just that, private.

Would send you daughter to play for someone like her? Be honest. Just being old fashioned, I would not.

old fashioned? hardly... prejudiced/ignorant/bigoted, definitely.

and yes, i would let my daughter play for her.

I would have no problem with her coaching my daughter..There's nothing old fashioned about it..Gays have been around forever..It was just never put out there..the way it is today..Go to a girls college soccer game and look around..The coach is the last one you have to worry about..
Does being straight make someone a better coach? I think not..I guess I have more understanding for this because my sister is gay and she's been nothing more or less than a great sister..
I guess they should look at firing all the professors and instructors for being homosexual too.I guess it's okay to be on a battlefield but not on a soccer field..

Yes, I would. It's nothing to do with being old-fashioned. Homosexuality has been around since ancient Greece, probably since the beginning of humanity, and it certainly isn't contagious.

I was talking to a friend about this and they said "But she's a lesbian coaching young women," which is just a horrific thing to say. We let straight adult men coach women's sports and no one assumes that they're preying on them.

Likely if a parent was sending thier daughter to this PRIVATE CHRISTIAN school they would not want it either.

For me I can not see where the school would have much choice given what they has a basic foundation for existance.

If this was a public school would this have happened??? I would hope not!!!!

By the way, yes I would let my daughter play with a coach who she trusted and thought was right for her.
