How many players are on your HS roster? And how many will be missing Viking Cup because of the out of state ECNL event?

Mann will be out 4-5.; So they can travel the world to only be recruited by schools in South Carolina based on the lastest signings. Maybe the state doesn't have the quality players needed to play outside the tri-state area.Maybe re-think this system.

Maybe some of the players will opt out to play in the viking cup...Seniors or players that might have already have an idea of where they want to go to school whether they play soccer or not..

Seniors don't have a trip. Just 15-17 girls. Good luck convincing CESA you want to skip for the Viking Cup. Heads would roll.

Not thinking many would do that as the cost for ECNL is pretty steep and some clubs required the money for the trips up front, so you skip an event you payed several hundred to travel??

If you choose not to go (non seniors) I would guess you are not getting back on that team again next year. Of course if you were unhappy with the program then skiping would make sense.

Have to agree with you Patriot. It does not seem to make much sense to travel to Seattle and San Antonio to have to be seen by Coaches and Schools within 250 or less of South Carolina. If you look at where this years Seniors committed to, it's all in SC, NC or GA. And mostly smaller schools.
And in reality, in all sports, the players tend to go to relatively nearby colleges.

Looking at South Carolina and Clemson's 2011 recruits (early or first pass recruits), it looks like those coaches must be traveling the ECNL circuit. Not only does it appear there wasn't much interest in SC but not even Region III players - Canadian, NE and out west players must be much better, although Florida and Texas teams in region III had several top nationally ranked teams. California and the NE have a lot of teams in the ECNL.
